The Box was a £46m project to transform Plymouths Grade II listed museum. The scheme comprised the alteration, refurbishment and extension to the listed building to incorporate museum exhibition halls, art galleries and a new piazza was constructed externally.
The Box provides a heart to the new Cultural Quarter of the city, and its opening aligned with the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower sailing to America. As an organisation based in Plymouth, we were extremely proud to be a part of this prestigious project.
Our role on this project was to provide onsite health and safety inspections and reporting for the client in order to ensure standards were maintained throughout the new museum spaces. This project was completed in 2020.
