Maddalena Hyslop

Financial Director

Maddalena and Martyn set up Collaton Safety in 2007 as they wanted the opportunity to run their own business and decided they had the necessary expertise to make it successful. Maddalena was originally a computer programmer working in various companies on diverse projects which included payroll, sales ledgers and purchase ledgers and also studied economics at college. She studied for her Certificate in Education as a mature student in 1998 and became a trainer for many years. Maddalena’s main role in Collaton Safety is finance, however she also manages the company’s HR together with Nicola.

Maddalena is always keen to learn and thought it would be useful to have a greater background knowledge of the industry so she has completed a CDM-Coordinator 2007 course and also studied for her NEBOSH qualification. Maddalena has also qualified as a Quality Management Auditor and performs internal audits for clients as well as writing complete Quality Management procedures to ISO19001 standards.

Nicola Kelly

Managaing Director

Nicola has worked for Collaton Safety since it was formed in 2007. She started as an administrator and has progressed through the company until she was made a Managing Director in 2019. She has over 10 years experience in all aspects of administration, project management and office management.

Nicola is an expert in all areas of Health and Safety documentation including compilation of Health and Safety files and all Pre Construction information. She also manages the office on a day to day basis and is responsible for all human resources.

Danielle Hill

Operations Manager / Health & Safety Consultant

Danielle has worked for Collaton Safety since 2015 and is the Operations Manager/Health and Safety Consultant.  Danielle has over 10 years’ experience within the construction industry. She has various Site Safety Training including, Asbestos Awareness, Scaffold Inspection, Working at Height, Gas Safe Awareness and Fire Safety.

Danielle currently carries out the Business/Project Management along with Site Safety Inspections, Initial Site Visits, compiles Health and Safety Files and other aspects of Health and Safety documentation.

Danielle holds the NEBOSH general certificate for site inspections and is working towards other Health and Safety qualifications including NEBOSH National Fire Certificate.

Danielle is an associate member of the APS.

Peter Cox

Principal Designer (CDM)

Peter started working for Collaton Safety in 2021 taking on the role of Principal Designer. He has previously been employed as a Safety Advisor and CDM Consultant since 2002 and has worked predominantly in the Construction Industry. He has acted as CDM coordinator/Principal Designer for array projects and companies throughout the UK. These projects have included Student Accommodation, Hospitals, Schools, Heritage and traditional & commercial builds.

Peter has a NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. He also studied for a NVQ 4 Occupational Health and Safety Practice and NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.

Over the years Peter has attended several practical courses allowing him to understand the role of construction Safety Consultant more and ensuring that a good practical and academic balance is achieved. He is a Chartered Member of The Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH), Incorporated Member of the Association for Project safety (IMaPS) and a Member of The International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (MIIRSM).

Jennifer McPherson

Health & Safety Consultant

Jennifer has worked for Collaton Safety since 2015 and is one of our Health and Safety consultants. She has over 10 years experience working in engineering and construction industries. Jennifer carries out Health and Safety Inspections, compiles Health and Safety files and can assist with SSIP registration. She can also assist with all other aspects of health and safety documentation.

Jennifer holds the NEBOSH Certificate in Construction and a NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.  She is also an a Technical member of The Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (TechISOH).

Deborah Lowther

Senior Administrator

Deborah has worked for Collaton Safety since 2013 and is an experienced Personal Assistant and Administrator. Deborah is responsible for assisting the directors as well as undertaking all main administration duties. She has a vast knowledge of all health and safety documentation.
